SkoolPilot ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SkoolPilot mobile application and web platform (the "Service") available at skoolpilot.in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Service.

By using SkoolPilot, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our Service:

  • School information: School name, address, school code, and contact details
  • Staff information: Name, phone number, role, and login credentials
  • Student information: Name, admission number, date of birth, class, section, and photo
  • Parent information: Name, phone number, and relationship to the student
  • Academic data: Attendance records, fee payment details, exam results, and timetable
  • Device information: FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) tokens for push notifications

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide school management features (attendance, fees, exams, timetable)
  • To allow parents to track their child's academic progress
  • To send important announcements and notifications to staff and parents
  • To authenticate users and maintain account security
  • To generate reports and analytics for school administrators

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Data is shared only with:

  • Firebase (Google): For push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • Razorpay: For processing subscription payments (we do not store card details)

All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords (bcrypt), JWT-based authentication with short-lived access tokens, and HTTPS encryption for all data transmission.

Each school's data is strictly isolated — one school cannot access another school's data.

6. Children's Privacy

SkoolPilot is a school management tool used by educational institutions. Student data is provided by the school and used only for academic management purposes. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Student data is managed by the school administrator and parents, in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as a school's account is active. Schools may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us. Upon account termination, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

9. Cookies

The web platform uses essential cookies and local storage only for authentication (JWT tokens). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
